SAFETY
OSHA Manual (1993) In response to growing concerns on managing safety regulations in hot-dip galvanizing facilities, the AGA has compiled a comprehensive manual specifically addressing the unique situations of the hot-dip galvanizing industry. This manual covers hazard communications, lockout/tagout, confined spaces, PELs, and other safety regulations. Available to members only. Approx 500 pages, MS-OSHA-93 Call for price.
Safety Video (1998) The AGA's Safety Video was developed specifically to review the hot-dip galvanizing process and present potential hazards to increase awareness and prevent occupational hazards within the hot-dip galvanizing facility. The video is divided into two parts: processing safety and maintenance safety. The processing safety portion aids the viewer in understanding the proper safety techniques to use throughout the hot-dip galvanizing process, such as discussion on the appropriate personal protective equipment and safety procedures. The maintenance safety portion gives an overview of specific safety issues in a hot-dip galvanizing facility. The issues highlighted in this portion of the video are chemical maintenance, confined spaces, lockout/tagout procedures, kettle maintenance, and housekeeping. Available to members only. 63 minutes, MS-SAFE-06 (English) MS-SAFESp-06 (Spanish) Call for price.
ENVIRONMENTAL
EPA Manual (2004) This manual provides hot-dip galvanizers with guidelines for managing environmental regulations in their facilities. The manual includes sample forms for various regulations as well as numerous contacts to assist hot-dip galvanizers nationwide in locating the correct environmental agency. The manual covers RCRA, Sara Title III, Form R Reporting, CAA, and other regulations. Available to members only. Approx. 500 pages, MS-EPA-04 Updates included. Call for price.
Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan Manual (1996) This manual provides hot-dip galvanizers with guidelines for developing a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan to satisfy the requirements of the NPDES Permitting Authority in each state. There are example pages and forms to assist in plan preparation. This manual applies to all types of permits. Available to members only. Approx. 250 pages, MS-SWP-96 Call for price.

Processing Video (1999) The AGA's Processing Video details successful hot-dip galvanizing processes and procedures and describes the entire process of taking bare steel and coating it with zinc. The video is divided into five modules that can be viewed independently: (1) Inspection, (2) Material Handling, (3) Surface Preparation, (4) Galvanizing and Kettle, (5) Post-Galvanizing Treatments. Available to members only. Approx. 90 minutes, MS-PROC-99 (English), MS-PROCSp-99 (Spanish). Call for price.
Galvanize It! Seminar (CD ROM or zip disk format, Microsoft PowerPoint, 1999) This informative, educational seminar is designed to help industry professionals better understand the corrosion process & hot-dip galvanizing's role in protecting steel from corrosion. Topics covered include the hot-dip galvanizing process, design of products to be hot-dip galvanized, relevant ASTM specifications, inspection, painting over hot-dip galvanized steel, costing information, & various uses for hot-dip galvanized steel. Available to members only. MS-CD-99 $75.00
Technical Binder (2002) A compilation of our most popular 12 publications and 27 informative reports. Everything an engineer, architect or specifier will need to aid him/her in the design and/or specifying of after- fabrication hot-dip galvanized steel. MS-TB-02 $75
Quality Assurance Manual (1994) This manual provides a basic guideline for establishing a quality assurance program throughout the hot-dip galvanizing operation. The manual has a cross-reference to ISO 9002 requirements as well as a framework for developing a quality policy manual. The manual also includes a quality system outline for documenting hot-dip galvanizing plant processes and procedures. Available to members only. Approx. 150 pages, MS-QA-94. Call for price.
Duplex Systems: Hot-dip Galvanizing plus Painting by J.F.H. Van Eijnsbergen (1994) Explains a two-prong approach to preventing corrosion for engineers and researchers in a range of industries including paint, metallurgy, building, automobiles, and chemicals. Describes both the traditional batch hot-dip galvanizing process and the modern sheet technique; suggests criteria for choosing the proper materials; provides practical guidelines and supports them with scientific and technical principles; surveys the tools available; and cites case studies of applications. Includes many color illustrations. 200 pages, PT-DSBK-94. Call for price.
Welding Galvanized Steel (1980-2001) A collection of magazine articles, book sections, & technical papers produced between 1980 and 2001 describe effective and safe methods for welding hot-dip galvanized steel. Available to members only. W-WGS-01 $20.00
